In response to Beth's comment, I have to say one 8th grader loved it but did not like the ending..she wanted her to stay with the "country guy"..
"Whoa!!" is what I said to her and I told her why I loved the ending. She wanted a simple "and they lived happily ever after" ending. We laughed about it and she got my point but I thought it was interesting.
