Thanks to Roxanne Feldman (AKA "fairrosa"), Susan Lempke, Joyce Sidman and Lindan Johnson who understand that civilly expressed differences of opinion are always welcome in the CCBC-Net discussion community.
Appreciation to Susan Bartoletti and Eliza Dresang for shepherding the national book award committees for which you had recent responsibility through processes laden with rules, precedent and visibility - and for knowing what you can and cannot say about the process afterwards.
Many thanks to Barbara Scotto and Connie Rockman for articulating the importance of genuine give-and-take in book discussion. And - as always
- gratitude to each and every person willing to step up to the CCBC-Net mike, as it were. Although we may not always agree with one another - or with the some of the outcomes announced by various book award committees
- we each want to learn. I value that continuing possibility throughout the intriguing discussion currently underway - and during the many other discussions ahead during future weeks and months!
Best, Ginny
