Just wanted to make subscribers aware of an article in the February 2 issue of Newsweek on page 52 which discusses history books for young people and includes a sidebar highlighting these wonderful books: Caldecott winner Mordecai Gerstein's "The Man Who Walked Between the Towers," as well as Newbery Honor Book winner Jim Murphy's "An American Plague."
FYI: I've been surprised that there hasn't been a great deal of discussion here about Jim Murphy's extraordinary book which was a National Book Award Finalist, Newbery Honor Book as well as Sibert Award winner.
