Time Travel

The Stravaganza books (as well as the Sterkarm Handshake) combine both time travel and alternate worlds - in other words, the time travelers don't travel back to their own past but to another (similar) one. This avoids the dreaded "step on a butterfly in the past/change the world in the present" scenario. I don't know if that makes a difference for the requestor. Another similar series is Warriors of Alavna/of Camlann.

A couple recent books about time travel are Stravaganza: City of Masks and Stravaganza: City of Stars by Mary Hoffman. I believe there are more to come. So far 2 kids from this time stravagate back to another time and assist people in the past with something as well as come to terms with something in their own lives. Very enjoyable reads.
