Linnea: What a wonderful summary! I too love this book and appreciate the way this funny delightful pigeon manages to look happy, crazed, pitiful and cute through small adjustments to each of his portraits. And you are so right about the book's pacing. We need to remember that there are many aspects of picture book design that come into play in making a book Caldecott and Caldecott-honor worthy. Thanks for reminding us!
