Here is a blurb of my nomination of this book for our Capitol Choices book list.
"Through beautiful illustrations and a simple text, Mordicai celebrates the human spirit and the magnificence of the two towers. He tells the story of Philippe Petit who walked between the two towers before they were completed. He had to set up everything secretly and readers see and read the details about how the cable was put in place. And his time in the air is joyfully portrayed. A joyous book." The quiet way in which Mr. Gerstein mentions that now the towers are gone is respectful and points out that a few words can say a great deal, just as a picture can make you feel dizzy and also powerful at the same time.
