I, too, loved GHOST GIRL, by Delia Ray. That was another lovely surprise I came across late in the season. Terrific historical fiction for fans of LOVE FROM YOUR FRIEND, HANNAH, by Mindy Warshaw Skolsky, CAT, RUNNING, by Zilpha Keatley Snyder, etc. That and Geraldine McCaughrean's (Newbery ineligible) STOP THAT TRAIN! were two of my favorite historical fiction reads of the year. Along with GRAPE THIEF, of course. : )
