Hi

Happy Holidays!

Many of the titles mentioned would be on my list, including: Olivia's Ocean; Man who Walked the Towers.

I would add the exploratioin of the Underground Railroad from a different perspective Freedom Road with Joyce Hansen and Gary McGowan. There is a wonderful unususal Alphabet book - The Hidden Alphabet - even the most reluctant reader might be induced to taking a good look at this title

Robert Sabuda is in my books practically and engineering genius. Have you seen his Alice in Wonderland with its marvelous house of cards, and an oversized Alice with legs and arms sticking out of the windows of Rabbit's house?

And believe it or not - I had to take a second look at Christopher Bing's illustrations for the much castigated Little Black Sambo. The characters' names are histrically troublesome, but the new illustrations with the story truly set in India, is worth a look.

What does one think of Ashley Bryan's Beautiful Black Bird? this talented artist, when he no longer needs to PROVE anything, goes off on different track for him- using collage in a most colorful way, and tells a story that has depth and meaning for anyone needing a book about positive self-concept

I have talked enough
