I'm glad someone finally mentioned Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson as one of the best of 2003. I thought it was an extraordinary book. Woodson places the reader inside the head of the main character, and her use of free verse to tell this story makes for excellent read?ility. I encourage any who have not yet read this book to do so.
