Keeper of the Night by Kimberly Willis Holt

This book, by one of my favorite authors ever, will break your heart. It has a big buzz going right now in my school and all three copies are continually in circulation. I get this on a weekly basis, "My friend told me this was an awesome book. Can I put it on reserve so when a copy comes in I can get it?" I happened to be reading it right when the parent of one of my students committed suicide, so it has a poignancy for some of our students that can't be denied. It is simply fantastic. I love the way Ms. Willis Holt writes. Her phrasing and word choice are fantastic. I have loved everything she has written. My MS kids love her books, too, and most are almost always in circulation.
