Hi, I don't know if this already has come up, but I wanted to mention a book called Stories from Where We Live--The California Coast.
It's an anthology for kids 9 & up. It gathers pieces about life along the coast past
and present, from known writers and unknown, including ethnic voices. The idea of the book is to use these voices to convey how life has been led in this area, for people as well as the natural habitat and creatures.
