FW: [BBYA:768] BBYA 2004 Nominations

Apologies for being off topic, but I thought others might be interested in the answer to Matthew's question. Best Books for Young Adults lists are produced by the YALSA division of ALA. The ALSC division (that also awards the Newbery and Caldecott medals) produces an annual list for 0 year olds called Notable Books that is comparable to BBYA but for the younger audience. You can find information about all of these lists and other awards on the www.ala.org website. If you are in San Diego for the ALA midwinter meetings you can observe BBYA, Quick Picks, Popular Paperbacks or Notables committees in action. The major awards deliberations are not open to the public.

Hi Everyone,

I really like this updated list for the BBYA Nominations. I was talking to a colleague about whether there was a list of new books like this for novels for younger readers (elementary school) I told her she should post the question, but apparently she's a lurker on this listserve, so I thought I'd ask the question instead. If anyone could let me know I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
