I saw your post on CCBC, and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed THE CITY OF EMBER. After reading it, I gave a copy to my 10-year-old niece, who read it at night with they brother. They both declared it their read-a-loud favorite after the Narnia books! So you're in good company :-)
