Sorry for the off topic email but wanted to let you know that Naomi's visit to Marquette was the most wonderful event I have been privileged to be part of. She is the most loving, joyful, caring individual I have met. Everyone who heard her speak fell in love with her. People actually come up to me and tell me this. She had us laughing and crying. Her passion for justice and beauty is abundant and evident. I overheard teachers say they were going to try poetry with their students now and others went home and started writing in their journals.
People in Madison told her to eat whitefish so she did--both lunch and dinner in the same restaurant! We even shared my meal and my chowder so she could taste it cooked in various ways. And the sun shone and it was even hot a couple of hours each day. The trees from Wisc. to the UP were red and yellow and golden. Perfect.
What a complete joy.
Take care, all.
Peace, Cathy
