I've found the discussion this month particularly interesting. My novel DUST is partly an examination of the desperation of a small town during the depression-era. I wanted to explore what would happen to a community if a supernatural rainmaker promised and delivered the one thing needed the most: rain. What power would he wield over the community? And, perhaps more importantly, what price would they be willing to pay for green fields? Community means banding together, support and protection but it can also mean stifling, single-mindedness.
