The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) in Abilene, Texas, will open its next exhibition, Discovering the World with Peter Sis, on Thursday, November 6th. Nineteen of Mr. Sis's extraordinary books will be represented by original art in the exhibit. The artist will speak at an 11:30am luncheon in his honor on the day of the opening; following the luncheon, he will sign books--available for sale at the NCCIL. (The luncheon is open to the public--please purchase tickets early via the phone number below.) On the evening of the 6th, the artist will speak at a gallery talk at the NCCIL at 6:30pm (for adults) and sign books. Wine, non-alcholic beverages, and hors d'oeuvres will be served; the event is free. On Saturday, November 8th, a children's breakfast event will be held at 10:00am at the Abilene Civic Center. Mr. Sis will talk briefly and a Young Audiences performance based on his books will be featured. Following the breakfast, the artist will sign books.
