Re: [ccbc-net] CommunityI read City Of Ember last May and it's still my favorite book of the year. Jeanne Duprau is such a sweet lady. She told me that it had been turned down years ago because the editor thought it resembled The Giver too much. She'd never even read The Giver. But she did several rewrites and it definitely has a life of its own. I can't wait to read the sequel next year.
