The Jane Addams Children's Book Awards committee, sponsored by the Jane Addams Peace Association, is currently considering books published in 2003, in the United States.
These awards are given annually to a picture book and a longer book for children that most effectively promote the cause of peace, social justice, world community, and the equality of the sexes and all races, as well as meeting conventional standards for excellence. Please send two copies of any book that you believe meet these criteria to the JACBA committee chair for 2003: Donna Barkman, 1 Reservoir Road, Ossining NY 10562.
