Just further to my recommendation of "Dear Genius" On the back of the hardback edition are the following quotes:

"What a pleasure to read Ursula Nordstrum's letters, which are a model of everything an editor's letters ought to be - generous, insightful, resourceful, supportive, with an occasional sharp reproof when it is called for, but always written out of enthusiasm and a genuine love of the printed word." Michael Korda

"The vibrant letters here preserve Nordstrom's wry wit and unfailing integrity, her tireless pursuit of factual and emotional accuracy, and her demanding standards and deep affection for writers and illustrators." ALA Booklist

"Most memorable, however, is Nordstrom to her authors, cajoling, encouraging, assisting, teasing out ideas, supporting in every way possible. It would have been hard to resist producing greatness for her." The Bulletin for the Centre for Children's Books.
