Hermione in Harry Potter movies

I guess I'm going to have to wait for the video to see Holes. I was disappointed that I didn't get to see it in the theater. It seems like everyone likes the Harry Potter movies, although they think the book is better. I enjoyed both Harry movies, but my biggest quibble is that the actress playing Hermione is just too cute. When reading the novels, I always pictured Hermione to be a "plain jane" kind of girl, who starts to bloom as the stories and adolescence progress. Emma Watson (II), who plays Hermione in the movies, is a beautiful girl--too beautiful, in my opinion, for my image of Hermione. I've never heard anybody else make this comment though...
