Hi,

I'd like to invite the CCBC-NET community to view and share with me your impression of TeachingBooks' latest virtual author program on Christopher Paul Curtis. The program consists of two movies filmed in his home: one is a five-minute interview that covers such penetrating themes as humor, race, bullies, and music in his novels. (You also get to see him in the Windsor Public Library where he wrote The Watson's Go to Birmingham - 1963.) The other movie shows him reading an exciting three pages of Bud, Not Buddy.

Included in all original TeachingBooks Authors Up-close programs are transcripts of the movies, in?pth written interviews that are culled from a few hours of talking with the author, a comprehensive bibliography, teacher guides for some of his books, and a collection of pertinent links on the Web that provide further insights and glimpses of the featured author.

TeachingBooks is free to use, but registration is required. Once you are signed in to http://www.TeachingBooks.net, go to Authors Up-close and scroll down to the Christopher Paul Curtis program. Enjoy.

Email me any questions or comments.

Happy summer to all.

Nick
