I do have to put my "2 cents" in here. A good editor is worth his/her weight in gold. A good editor isn't one who merely acquiesces -- he/she is one who first, sees what the writer is trying to do, and then by skillfully put suggestions and questions helps the writer to achieve his/her vision. I've been very fortunate to have wonderful editors and I'm grateful to all of them.
