Hi. I'm not an expert on this, but it seems that there has been a recent concern in Hollywood to respect books when making movies of them. Do y'all agree with that? I count my blessings when thinking of all the things that could have been done to Harry Potter or Holes when it went to the silver screen.
I also want to share that I'm excited about Freaky Friday, one of the mainstay books from my childhood that is being released this August. For the trailer, see http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/freaky_friday/
Here's an odd twist. Freaky Friday stars children's book author Jamie Lee Curtis. How often has a quality children's book author like Curtis starred in a film of a children's book that he or she didn't write? Fun stuff.
Peace.
Nick

Hi, I just had to point out that Jamie Lee Curtis' career began in acting in the 1970s, and she started writing children's books in the 1990s. I really don't find it odd that she's starring in a children's movie, especially considering how many celebrity authors there are these days. (I mean, even Madonna is writing children's books now...)
