I currently am teaching a group of kids entering third and fourth grade, and all that they have talked about this week is Harry Potter. Not one has complained about the length. In fact, they all seem to be very proud of how many pages they have read. I even have one girl in my class who read all day Saturday and Sunday and finished the whole book in just two days! Just think how less intimidated these kids will be when they meet the likes of Mobey Dick or War and Peace in high school.
Well, I'm off to read more. I need to catch up to where a majority of the class is so that they will stop spoiling it for me. Kids just can't seem to keep their mouths closed.
