Did anyone else notice that very little seemed to be changed form the British to the American versions of book 5? I haven't seen the British version yet, but many of the words that were changed in the previous books, such as sweater for jumper, were left alone this time. There also seemed to be many other British words and sayings in this book, which I haven't noticed in past books. Does anybody know anything about why this was done? Did it change the reading experience for you at all? What about with kids? As an adult it didn't change my comprehension level, but might a few of the passages be more difficult for children to understand?
And my 2 cents regarding the length of the book... I would also have to disagree with people that say that the book is too long or drags. I was very disappointed with book 4, and put it down midway for a couple of months before I had the energy to finish it. The pace of book 5 seems to be much quicker however, and the details are what makes me feel like a student sitting right along with Harry at Hogwarts. It has been very difficult tearing myself away from the book to teach this summer.
