I would love nothing more than to attend the discussion on creating sensitive Multicultural books for children, as my next novel talks about different customs. No Laughter Here tells the story of friendship between an African-American girl and her African best friend, who behaves differently after returning to the states from a visit to her homeland. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the discussion in Toronto. Will there be an audio recording or follow-up article?

Hi, Everyone
Please accept this as an invitation for all who are planning to come to Toronto.
On Sunday, June 22, from 1:30 - 3:30 Coretta Scott King Task Force is coordinating a panel discussion: "Creating Culturally Sensitive Books for Children" The program will be held in Room716A/B in the Convention Center
A panel representing various ethnic minority cultures will speak , each from his/her perspective of what is looked for from authors, illustrators, editors and publishers.
The wrap-up will be sparked by Patricia Aldana - Groundwood Press - a Canadian based publishing house. There will time for questions from those in attendance.
It should be a lively, thought-provoking couple of hours. Hope that many of you can fit it into your schedules.
Travel safely,
Henrietta M. Smith - Coordinator.
