But there IS such a thing as bad or sloppy editing, as flaws in plot logic or characterisation, or simple mistakes that it IS the editor's responsibility to pick up in ANY book, not just the sacrosanct HP. Not everything is a matter of opinion. An error is an error. HP is by no means immune to them. As critical readers - again, of any book, not just HP, but perhaps particularly of books that engender such affection that people are more willing to turn a blind eye to significant flaws - we should acknowledge this.
