Sorry for cross-posting. I'm passing along an information sheet from the Bank Street New Perspectives Office. Maybe some of you or your colleagues will be interested in this workshop?

WHAT IF THE GREAT BOOK INSIDE YOU IS FOR KIDS?

It was for Margaret Wise Brown, it was for Maurice Sendak?just two of the beloved children?s writers who discovered their ?Great Books? with the help of the Bank Street Writers? Lab.

This summer, in the spirit of the Writers? Lab, New Perspectives at Bank Street College welcomes submissions from unpublished authors for our third annual summer institute, Writing for Children, held at Teachers & Writers Collaborative on Union Square West in Manhattan.

This month-long institute includes a choice of three writing workshops, luncheon, and a discussion with award-winning author, Walter Dean Myers and Pheobe Yeh, Editorial Director at HarperCollins Children?s Books.

If you have a manuscript or an outline for a children?s book suitable for children (ages 2-8) or young adolescents (ages 9), please join us this summer for Writing for Young Children.

For a chance to discover your Great Book, call the New Perspectives office at 212.875.4649 or visit us as [ http://www.bankstreet.edu/ce/specialevents
