Regarding Harry Potter's continuing appeal to older kids, at my end-of-year TAB
(middle school Teen Advisory Board) meeting, we had a lively conversation about what we were looking forward to reading this summer and, of course, Order of the Phoenix came up. Most of my TAB kids have read all of the books and have seen both movies
(smart children that they are, they like the books better) and are eagerly waiting to get their hands on Order of the Phoenix. Those who can afford it have reserved copies at local bookstores, those who cannot have placed holds on the 110 copies ordered by our library (133 holds to date--very high for such an affluent community). The 8th graders were just as anxious to read it as the 6th and 7th graders and the hyped-up 8-year-olds I know (not to mention my husband!).

So, here in Arlington, Harry's still a phenomenon and I'm sure all of the library and bookstore parties planned in conjunction with the June 21st street date will be bursting with young--and older-?mirers.
