YA Literature on the Edge

The most important thing YA edgy literature can provide children is the chance to see problems they might be facing and to learn from the way the characters in those books deal with them. I still think the most important thing for any young reader is to talk to their parents about what they are reading. Parents need to know what their children are being exposed to and it may open an important dialouge that benefits the parent and the child.
