Merri,
Today's is the "official publication day" for a title that I would think fits into this category. Julie Anne Peters' "Keeping You A Secret," published by Little Brown. ISBN: 0316702757
Have any of you read it yet? I've requested a review copy from Little Brown and can't wait to read it. Peters is an awesome YA writer. We read/reviewed/posted a blurb on her "Define Normal" YA novel. We loved that title. http://www.childrencomefirst.com/cms/bkreviewDefineNormal.shtml
You can read the publisher's blurb on "Keeping You A Secret" at: http://www.twbookmark.com/books/76/0316702757/index.html
"Keeping You A Secret is the story of Holland Jaeger, a high school senior, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she falls for an out and proud lesbian at school. Holland's awakening to her true identity and sexuality forces her to overcome the repressive burden of societal expectations. As Holland says, "A girl meets a guy, they fall in love, have sex, get married, not necessarily in that order. Expectations. They ruled my life. Cut the ending. Revise the script. The man of her dreams is a girl."
