Greetings to all, and should you be in the New York City area, consider this an invitation to hear two veteran children's book illustrators hold forth:
Central Children's Room
presents: A Spring Lecture Series
"Funny To Children, Funny To
Grown-Ups--Or Funny To Everyone?"
A conversation with
HILARY KNIGHT,
the illustrator of Kay Thompson's Eloise Takes A Bawth,
all of its predecessors, Betty Bard McDonald's
Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, and much else besides.
Thursday, May 8, 2003
6:00 - 8:00
"Humor In Children's Books"
An exploration and discussion by
JOSE ARUEGO
The illustrator of many children's classics, including
Robert Kraus' Leo, the Late Bloomer and Noel the Coward,
as well as his own Rockabye Crocodile, and most recently,
Judy Sierra's Antarctic Antics: A Book of Penguin Poems.
Thursday, May 15, 2003
6:00 - 8:00
Both free events will be preceded by a reception, from 6:00 - 6:30
This annual event is intended for adults who are interested in children's literature, and provides an opportunity to explore how award-winning artists approach their work. We thank the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation for its support.
Central Children's Room, Donnell Library Center
20 West 53rd Street
New York, NY 10019
(212) 62136
Peace,
John
