Thanks to all who shared their thoughts, ideas, strategies and poems this month. Thanks for all you taught me. You've brought me out of the woodwork to share the following: The Chicago Tribune celebrated National Poetry Month by publishing poems in the Tempo section throughout the month. The editors wrote in today's edition (Wednesday, April 30), "One note and one phone call questioned whether what we had printed was, in fact, poetry. All the others said things like: 'More, please.' 'Put me down as a yes.' 'I loved the poems today; LOVED them.' 'Please don't stop.'
"Okay, we get it," the editors wrote. Poems will now be published in the Tempo section throughout each month. The Tribune editors are asking readers to send them poems, preferably those already published. Today's issue includes a poem written in the Saturday Scholars program of Young Chicago Authors, another first written when the poet was in grade school and one by the director of an arts center. My astrological forecast AND inspiration, all in the same section of my Tribune.
