I write in reply to Richard Quriing's tale of poems by heart living again in a nursing home:
What a wonderful story!
I work with a children's theatre and we take a shortened version of our shows to the nursing home where my 93 year old aunt lives.
It is a cherished memory, seeing an old man, whose mind is no longer fully functioning, raise his arms to fly with Peter Pan on our last visit there, every time we sang 'Now I Can Fly'. His mind and body both failing, his spirit flew with ours. The same way the grand chorus of poetry sang in the nursing home you visited. I love the triumph of the human spirit!
