I've never posted to this prestigious group before (though I'm an avid reader) but when I found out about this opportunity I knew the fabulous teachers on this list would want to know! Kristine O?Connell George, the award-winning author of several poetry books for children, including Swimming Upstream: Middle School Poems is offering a fantastic opportunity for kids in that age group! All during the month of March and April, teachers and librarians can submit up to three poems per class to be included in an online anthology. It?s a terrific opportunity to have your students published. Details about the contest (and about a million other resources for teachers of poetry!) can be found at: Kristine O'Connell George's Children's Poetry Corner or click on Poetry Quest to go directly to the contest information. It would be a great way to celebrate National Poetry Month!
All the best,
Tracie
