While I did really enjoy this book, my only problem with it is that the illustrations were done in watercolor, a medium that Jackson Pollock did not use. If we were judging a book by that factor alone, I think that the illustrations in Frida were far mor e expressive and indicitive of her painting style. I find that art teachers looking for books about artists may appreciate one that evokes the style of a particular painter. However, I do think the information provided was good and it was just enough to interest a young reader without boring them with too much information. Overall I did enjoy the book, but was perhaps a little disappointed that the illustrations were not in Pollock's style. I was anticipating the release of this book to see how the illustrator would 'create' Pollock's style, and I guess maybe it is one that could not be duplicated.
