I am a big fan of Hiaasen's "adult" work and now his YA work, too. I did find it interesting that his young adult novel was far more realistic than his over the top adult novels. He could have gone the opposite direction with HOOT and produced a hilarious, gut busting epic, but he chose to keep the reins on and I think that made this a much stronger book. I look forward to his next book for YA.
