Through January 26, we'll be talking about the National Book Award winner,The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, and National Book Award nominees Feed by M.T. Anderson; 19 Varieties of Gazelle by Naomi Shihab Nye; This Land Was Made for You and Me by Elizabeth Partridge; and Hush by Jacqueline Woodson. Jan 271 we invite your initial Responses to ALA Awards (Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, Coretta Scott King, Batchelder, Sibert). The winners will be announced at a press conference on Monday, January 27, at 8:45 EST. Visit the Awards section of ALSC's website to find out the winners soon after they are announced.

April 2003 Poetry. April is National Poetry Month. We'll take a look at some of the outstanding poetry that's been published for children and teenagers in the past several years. What are your favorite volumes? We'll also take a look at recent novels that have used poems to convey their stories.
