I too felt that the ending of this book was rushed, but the rest of the story was so engaging (especially to a non?n of sci-fi). It felt rushed, perhaps, because the rest of the book went into so much detail -- Farmer spent a lot of time creating the "inside" world, and then when Matt went outside, that world was less detailed. Once they escaped, everything happened so quickly -- and easily. That said, this is the only flaw I found in an otherwise wonderful read!
