I, too, found FEED's "like"-strewn language to be painful reading, perhaps from a stylistic/aesthetic point of view. I can understand why the author chose to use that language, but that does not make it more pleasant to read! I thought that the main character did not change enough, from a literary point of view. His lying and his callousness may have been realistic, and indeed, part of the whole point of the book, yet surely a main character should evolve more as a result of what has gone on in a novel. A happy ending was certainly not necessary, but the ending that did take place did not feel like the inevitable outcome of all that went before. I do think that teens would like this book, and that it is most discussable and relevant to today's consumerist society.
