My sense of Feed:
I do not quite buy the scenario of America being this isolated nation in a very near future. The future world presented seems to be pieced together from superfacial observations of teen and consumer cultures, rathered than synthesized from a deeper understanding of much more complicated social and economical theories or realities.
It feels very... petty, for lack of a better word. I was anticipating something more... global? ... cosmic? ....profound?
I did enjoy the book to a certain extend, liking the descriptions of implanted Net feeds, though possibly for the wrong reason!
