I always love this time of year, when I hear of titles I've admired also and more importantly - of titles I've missed. The fact that someone picks one or two titles to note, out of the hundreds we've seen over the year that makes it worth taking a look at, in my opinion. So, thanks everyone so far, for sharing.

And here are my two contributions: Sleepy Pendoodle by Malachy Doyle with illustrations by Julie Vivas. This book is a joy to read out loud (you do need to practice :-)), and kids giggle, giggle, giggle when you do. The pictures are great - especially the puppy.

Under the Christmas Tree by Nikki Grimes, with illustrations by Kadir Nelson. The poems are fabulous all by themselves, and the illustrations which vary widely in composition, color and style - complement them nicely. This is a great book for sitting down and reading snuggled up with a child or two.
