As we're talking this month about the books we think are the best of the year, I invite any of you holding your own award discussions locally, whether with children and teens or adults, to share the results of your discussions with the CCBC-Net community.
Last night, we held our annual CCBC Caldecott Award discussion at the CCBC, and here are the results:
Winner: "Action Jackson," illustrated by Robert Andrew Parker. Written by Jan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan. Roaring Brook Press, 2002.
Honor Book: "The Three Questions," illustrated and written by Jon J Muth. Based on a story by Leo Tolstoy. Scholastic Press, 2002.
Honor Book: "What Charlie Heard," illustrated and written by Mordicai Gerstein. Frances Foster Books / Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2002
And here is the complete list of books we discussed:
