I have to agree with I Stink as one of my favorites this year. The text is laugh out loud funny (to my 4 year old that is) and the illustrations are bright and hilarious. My absolute favorite this year is This Little Chick by John Lawrence. It's yet another baby animal making his way through the barnyard, but the bright, woodcut illustrations make it pop. The page with the chick flying through the air with the baby frogs is terrific. It's so rare to have a great book for the very young that stands out with eye popping illustrations and I think this one fits the bill. I have read it 3 times this fall to my 6 month olds in my lapsit program and they've loved it. Thanks for letting me put my two cents in. I look forward to all the other favorites.
