Hi..Am frantically packing books to send back home to Calif as we are returning after two years here in Melbourne but wanted to add my 2 cents re: Mrs. Biddlebox. I wrote the following (will only quote a portion..bear with me)
"In one of our favorite books this season, Marla Frazee's art whirls and swirls across the pages of LInda Smith's 'Mrs. Biddlebox' who gets up in a funk on the '
'wrong side of her bunk.' Her solution is to 'set the day to bake.' And indeed, with enormous energy and imagination, the bleak day is transformed into a 'merry slice of cake.' It's such a pity that Linda Smith didn't live to see Marla's artwork that captures the positive humor and fierce determination of Mrs. Biddlebox. Marla portrays her as a homely lady of indeterminate age, frizzy black hair contained in a mop of a ponytail flying behind her."

The thing is I am afraid you might overlook this book and if you have, give it another look. Cheers..Jody
