Like Angela Reynolds, I, too, appreciated "Duck on a Bike" by David Shannon. It's a good example of a simple patterned text that works well with slight ? but significant ? variations for each animal character to show the personality differences. It's been a great favorite among young children as well.

Speaking of ducks, we'va also enjoyed "Giggle Giggle Quack," the sequel to "Click Clack Moo" by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin. I was afraid the idea would be old after the first book, but, if anything, this one surpasses the original.
