Can it be that we are seeing more and more and more human situations illustrated with animals because of p.c.-ism? A badger or a turkey is generally not identified by color, religion, family origins, and the like. Humans are and are given labels. But fear of a label in a human situation may stop an author with something to say from showing humans.
Personally, I am fond of elephants--except those who represent a certain political party.
