another orphan story

My favorite "orphan" story, actually one of my favorite books ever, is Zazoo by Richard Mosher. This is not only an orphan story but a multicultural one as well since Zazoo, from Vietnam, is adopted by an elderly French man, who is single. It's a multigenerational story: young people dealing with elderly people and no middle aged people in sight (if I remember correctly). Another look at a nontraditional family.
