On Thursday, November 7th, the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature
(NCCIL) will open its newest exhibit in the NCCIL's gallery. The Crews Family: Donald Crews, Ann Jonas, Nina Crews features works (a total of 67 pieces) by all three artists. A free reception on November 7th (from 6:00 until 7:00pm) offers interested adults an opportunity to meet the artists. At 7:00, the artists will present a gallery talk, also at no charge to the public. Autographed books will be available for sale. On Saturday, November 9th, at 10:00, the NCCIL will sponsor a free children's event featuring an appearance by the artists. The NCCIL is located at 102 Cedar Street, Abilene, Texas (at the corner of North First and Cedar streets). The exhibit will close February 13, 2002, when it will begin its national tour.
