Hi, Everyone
How many of us can recall the ORPHANS in Mrs. A[melia} E. Johnson's novel, Clarence and Corinne? Mrs. Johnson, the wife of a Baptist minister, and a lady who at one time taught French, wrote this book in 1905 or 1907 and was among the first African-American women writers to have a novel for young people published. There is a copy of the book in the Library of Congress collection.
